Aug 24, 2011 (newstodate): Flybe Nordic, the JV between Flybe and Finnair, has now unveiled its plans for the coming route network.
Flybe Nordic will be operating routes formerly operated by Finncomm as well as many new routes, strengthening its position in the Nordic countries and the Baltic area.
The new routes will also providet feeder traffic to Finnair's international network.
On the domestic lines, Flybe Nordic will be operating seven routes from Helsinki as well as four domestic routes between other Finnish airports.
On the international scene, Flybe Nordic will operate flights from Helsinki to Swedish destinations Norrkoping, Skelleftea, Mariehamn, and Umeaa.
Flybe Nordic will also operate flights on routes from Helsinki to Trondheim, in Norway, and to Gdansk, in Poland.
Estonia will become another major destination for Flybe Nordic that will operate flights on routes to Vaasa, Oulu, Turku and Tampere in Finland, as well as to Stockholm Bromma Airport, in Sweden.
The new routes, which will also be included in Finnair's flight schedules, will be flown as code-share flights between the two carriers.
From the start, Flybe Nordic will be operating nine ATR 72 aircraft formerly with Finnish Commuter Airlines, plus four ATR 42 and two Embraer 170.
At a later stage, plans also include new flights to Denmark, Lithuania, and Latvia.
