Aug 08, 2011 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo's total volumes dropped 4.5 percent, y-o-y, in July 2011.
The company carrier a total of 11,131 tonnes including 9,900 tonnes on its scheduled passenger flights, up 4.4 percent, and 1,227 tonnes on its freighter operations that dropped 41 percent in volumes.
As usual, the bulk of the total loads are on the Asian routes that grew 10.1 percent 7,216 tonnes, while loads on the North Atlantic flights were down by 61 percent.
European cargo was down nine percent to 1,871 tonnes, with the cargo load factor down by 11.3 percentage-points.
During this year's first seven months, the company generated a total of 78,273 tonnes of cargo, up 18.3 percent, including 46,230 tonnes of Asian tonnes that grew by 10.2 percent.
Obviously, the disasters in Japan together with falling US trade in a generally depressed world economic environment is taking its toll of Finnair Cargo as well.
