Aug 18, 2011 (newstodate): The Finnish company Copterline has delayed the planned announcement on the reopening of the helicopter line between Helsinki, Finland, and Tallinn, Estonia.
The CEO of the the company behind Copterline, Kari Ljungberg, earlier told newstodate that the public announcement would go out this week, but now says it has been re-scheduled for next week instead.
Estonian Air earlier said a similar helicopter service was under consideration, but denies any involvement in Copterline's current plans.
-We did negotiate with Copterline, but did not reach agreement on how to settle the ownership structure of the Joint Venture, says Tero Taskila, Estonian Air CEO:
-Anyway, the product is a good fit to our market segment. Therefore we are interested to continue developing our own plans in this sphere as well, says Mr Taskila.
The planned helicopter service will be serving a route between the city centers of Helsinki and Tallinn, thus not providing a spill-over into Finnair's route network by Estonian passengers, which would pose a threat to Estonian Air's own growing European route network.
