Aug 26, 2011 (newstodate): Estonian Air is now in the final process of drafting its strategy for the future development of the carrier.
Several scenarios have been worked out, and a decision on which way to go will be made by shareholders at a meeting in September, with the exact date still pending.
-The eventual decision on the scenario will then provide the foundation for decisions on a range of pertinent issues, including the composition and size of Estonian Air's future aircraft fleet, says Ilona Eskelinen, Estonian Air PR Director.
-So far we have said that we will most likely end up with a fleet of 15 aircraft by 2015. Today we operate two CRJ900 aircraft, one more will be delivered in December this year, and we will have options for a further three CRJ900 after that.
-Beyond that we cannot go at this stage, pending the decisions to be made by the shareholders at their forthcoming meeting, says Ms Eskelinen.
Besides the two CRJ900 aircraft now in the fleet, Estonian Air is also operating two Boeing 737-300, two Boeing 737-500 and two SAAB340 aircraft.
