Aug 12, 2011 (newstodate): Is the European ad-hoc freighter market really so bad as claimed by some operators?
At least one carrier, Sweden's Fly Logic, based at Malmo Sturup Airport, seems to remain rather optimistic about market potentials.
-We operate both passenger and cargo flights, and for the latter we cannot say that the market is entirely flat, says Willy Liljeheden, Fly Logic CEO.
-Our cargo business includes a contract with Amapola concerning nightly flight operations for Post Sweden, but we are also active in the ad-hoc market.
-The market may not be booming but we still have more requests concerning European cargo operations than we are actually capable of accepting, says Mr Liljeheden.
The carrier, formerly named Malmo Air Taxi, operates a fleet comprising three PA31 and one MetroLiner aircraft on contract flights and ad-hoc charter, and is currently hiring more aircraft crews as part of an expansion process.
