Jul 28, 2011 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo is generally satisfied with its performance in the four Nordic markets.
-The latest figures from CASS Nordic proves again that June is a rather slow period in airfreight, but even so we are especially happy to note that we are again rates as No 1 in the important Swedish market, says Alexander Kohnen, Lufthansa Cargo Director for the Nordic and Baltic countries.
-In June 2011, our share of the Swedish IATA export airfreight market was 24.3 percent, and we managed to up this stake by 93.5 percent, compared to June 2010, bringing the total to 3,010 tonnes.
-In Finland we also managed to keep our position as the No 2 carrier, after Finnair, with 11.8 percent of the market, despite dipping 23.9 percent in volumes to 388 tonnes in the weakening market.
-With 643 tonnes export cargo we were No 2 in the Danish market, declining 10.2 percent in June, while we obviously have some way to go in Norway, where we were No 5 with 539 tonnes, down 53.8 percent over June 2010.
-So after all, we are doing pretty well and now preparing for the return of business as the markets build up again after the summer season, says Mr Kohnen.
