Jul 28, 2011 (newstodate): The Lithuanian MRO provider FL Technics has purchased seven ex-AirAsia Boeing 737-300 aircraft for tear-down into parts and components.
The disassembled aircraft components will be used to form and maintain a wider stock of Boeing 737 Classic spare parts and components as well as to expand FL Technics' warehouse portfolio capabilities for customers in CIS, CEE, and the broader EU region.
FL Technics added the aircraft tear-down capability in February 2010 with the purchase of an ex-Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-300 airframe from GECAS for teardown, including all components but excluding engines.
FL Technics AB, based at Vilnius Airport, is part of Lithuanian aviation business group Avia Solutions Group AB.
