Jul 28, 2011 (newstodate): First operator of Russia's new regional jet Sukhoi Superjet 100, Armavia is reportedly seeing problems with the aircraft's engines.
As a consequence, the aircraft was withdrawn from operations on July 23, 2+11, and is still stuck on ground.
Armavia took delivery of the aircraft on April 21, 2011, and it has since performed 234 flights on routes from Yerevan to destinations including Moscow, Rome and other cities.
Problems with manufacturing the engine were behind the delays to the delivery of the first Superjet 100 aircraft, and his has turned out also that the engines are less fuel-efficient and heavier than planned.
