Jul 27, 2011 (newstodate): A special trait of the Finnish airfreight market is strong loyalty among forwarders towards the national carrier, Finnair.
This also shows in the export airfreight statistics from IATA CASS.
In June 2011, IATA carriers aggregated a total of 3,295 tonnes of ex-Finland export airfreight, and Finnair Cargo again underscored its dominating role in the market with a share of 50.7 percent, up two percent y-o-y to 1,671 tonnes.
By comparison, the Scandinavian carrier SAS was only No 5 in the Danish and Norwegian markets, but ranking No 3 in the Swedish airfreight market as documented in CASS statistics for June 2011.
While Finnair is not among the top-10 IATA cargo carriers in Denmark, Finnair holds a position as No 1 export airfreight carrier in Norway, and No 5 in the Swedish market.
