Jul 29, 2011 (newstodate): New ways to monitor market demands are taken up by Estonian Air.
The carrier has launched a major corporate strategy project which uses crowd-sourcing as a tool to get ideas and feedback from its customers, partners and employees.
So far, the company has received almost 3,000 inputs and suggestions for development of its products and services via its friends on facebook.
Launched on June 1, 2011, the process is driven by the airline's new CEO, Tero Taskila who has introduced a corporate strategy project called "My Estonian Air", where people are asked to help Estonian Air to develop the airline's products and services further.
A preliminary summing up indicates that some 70 percent of the respondents prefer Estonian Air to continue as a legacy and not a low-cost carrier, most respondents do not like to have to pay separately for luggage or check-in, 90 percent agree that services of traditional airline should be included to the fare, 64 percent think that on-board meals should be included, and 26 percent prefer on-board internet service rather than mobile phones.
Also Estonians prefer convenient and fast air connections into main hubs, only 31 percent of the respondents would accept flying into remote airports to save money.
