Jul 29, 2011 (newstodate): August 1, 2011 has now been set as the launch date for yet another Serb effort to sell the national carrier JAT.
Potential bidders in the new tender will have until September 30, 2011, to call for the tender documents and make their interest known.
After a short-listing of potential bidders and the final selection of a winner, the new owner will then take command of the carrier from the start of 2012, aiming at setting up a new Serb national carrier with the assets of the existing JAT including route rights and staff, but with a new aircraft fleet.
An earlier effort in 2008 ended without any result as no bids were on the table when the tender closed.
