Jun 30, 2011 (newstodate): Not just a rumor: the UK jet charter company Ocean Sky Aviation is sincerely interested in taking a share in Latvia's scheduled carrier airBaltic.
-We can confirm that we have handed in an offer to participate in the ownership of airBaltic, says Jenna Prior, Ocean Sky Aviation press spokesperson.
-It would obviously mean the addition of an entirely new line of business for our company, but we are interested in developing Ocean Sky further by entering into new ventures, says Ms Prior.
The shareholders of the Latvian carrier airBaltic - The Latvian state and Baltijas Aviacijas Sistemas - will meet on July 25, 2011, to discuss the formation of a new airline council as well as an increase of the shareholding capital.
Ocean Sky Aviation operates a fleet of 13 business jet aircraft for charter operations, as well as jet centers in the airports of Luton, Manchester and Prestwick.
Ocean Sky recently named the Danish national Janus Kamradt to lead the sales activities for the group's newly-established aircraft sales operation and its aircraft management business.
