Jun 29, 2011 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines is extending its freighter route network with the opening of five new destinations from July 2011.
New destinations to be served from Istanbul include Budapest, Kabul, Bombay, Lagos and Riyadh.
The new flights are driven by the delivery by the end of this month of the company's second Airbus A330-200F aircraft.
In the freighter fleet are also four Airbus A310-300F, and Turkish Airlines has orders for delivery of a further four Airbus A330-200F freighters.
The carrier's tonnages are growing fast, aggregating a total of 151,400 tonnes of cargo during January-May 2011, an increase by 22.28 percent, y-o-y.
