Jun 27, 2011 (newstodate): Even if the Swedish airfreight market has not
been expanding much in volumes through the first half of this year,
Greencarrier is still upbeat about prospect for advancing several steps
in the Swedish CASS statistics.
-We are still in the build-up phase, designing the tools for our
cooperation with the exporters and completing the structural
prerequisites, but even so we are in business with the ambition to grow
from our current position around #15 in the CASS statistics to becoming
#7 or 8 be the end of this year, says Jorgen Ekwall, Greencarrier Air Freight Traffic Manager.
-The Swedish CASS statistics have companies like DHL and Geodis
Wilson and a few more in the lead positions, but in the segment between
the #7 and #15 positions the players are only marginally separated, so
our goal is indeed realistic and attainable.
-Still, our focus is not on the Swedish market alone but also
encompasses the Nordic and Baltic markets where we are represented by
own offices. So the potentials are great, even if competition is of
course very strong, especially in a time when the markets are not
expanding at a fast pace.
-Like most others, the Far Eastern traffics weigh heavily, but we
are not forgetting the US traffic potentials either. In this market we
are now cooperating with a major US player, Mid-American that will also
play an important role in our development, says Mr Ekwall.
The Swedish forwarding and logistics provider Greencarrier
strengthened its airfreight division only from the start of this year,
with Bo Sunnaaker, formerly Geodis Wilson, as its head.
