Jun 01, 2011 (newstodate): One of the more surprising route openings this year may be a new direct scheduled service between Kuwait and Pyongyang, in North Korea.
The North Korean carrier Air Koryo has started a once-weekly rotation on the route from May 16, 2011, using TU-204 aircraft.
Otherwise banning the entire aircraft of the carrier, EU lifted the ban on the two new TU-204 aircraft from Air Koryo from March 30, 2010, enabling the carrier to launch flights into Europe.
The new flights is the second opened by Air Koryo in 21011, the first being flights on a new route from Pyongyang to Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia.
