Jun 27, 2011 (newstodate): Mongolia's Eznis Airways has now taken its first steps into the jet age.
The carrier has acquired two two Avro RJ85 regional jetliners from BAE Systems, with the first aircraft already delivered and the second to follow later this month.
The new aircraft to be used on the domestic network will bolster the existing fleet comprising four SAAB 340B aircraft.
A special feature of the Avro RJ85 aircraft is its ability to operate on gravel runways which makes it especially valuable for the carrier.
Eznis Airways was established in 2006 by the Mongolian investment company Newcom Group.
