Jun 24, 2011 (newstodate): The Latvian ground handling company North Hub Services is expected to launch business at its second base in Sweden later in 2011.
Ground handling services were opened by NHS at Stockholm Arlanda Airport from June 1, 2011, and according to plans earlier announced, operations will be introduced also at Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport later this year.
As was the case at Stockholm Arlanda, North Hub Services will also meet strong competition at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
At Gothenburg, ground handling services are currently provided by the SAS Group company SAS Ground Handling as well as Menzies and Aviator, formerly Nordic Aero.
Expectations are that Skyways, currently handled by NHS at Riga Airport and operating between Riga and Gothenburg will probably become North Hub Services' launch customer at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
