Jun 10, 2011 (newstodate): A moose cannot fly - that is common sense. Anyhow, a new Swedish ACMI and charter operations provider, Swedish Moose has been under formation for quite some time - but has not managed so far.
The carrier's application for AOC has been with the Swedish Transport Agency since autumn 2010 - but has now been withdrawn after several months with no progress.
The problem is lack of financial means leading the carrier to suspend its application while seeking ways to reconstruct the financial background through Ackordcentralen, a Swedish consultancy company specializing in helping companies with payment or profitability problems.
Already in November 2010, the carrier was recruiting cockpit and cabin crews for its Airbus A320 aircraft fleet to be based at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, and early expectations were that a first flight would take to the air before or around Christmas 2010.
