Jun 15, 2011 (newstodate): After a long drawn-out tender process and ensuing negotiations, Emirates SkyCargo has now decided on its cargo handling at Copenhagen Airport.
Beating the offer by WFS, the company will remain with SAS Cargo's handling company Spirit Air Cargo when Emirates starts online operations between Dubai and Copenhagen Airport from August 1, 2011.
Emirates has named Novia, part of the new Scandinavian handling group Aviator as its ground handling service provider as to passengers and aircraft, while cargo sales and marketing remains with ScanPartners as GSSA.
Emirates will start its daily services at Copenhagen Airport using Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route, but already from February 1, 2012, the carrier will replace the Airbus with Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, offering about 50 more passenger seats and higher payload.
