Jun 08, 2011 (newstodate): Plans are on the table for a modernization of Belarus' Minsk International Airport.
A new company will be set up to manage the modernization process and the acquisition of equipment and services, and the project will be financed by Chinese investments and credits.
The project slated to be completed by 2014 includes construction of a new passenger transit terminal, new information systems, new security equipment and construction of a new runway allowing for aircraft up to the size of the Airbus A380.
The airport currently has a 3,641m runway.
