Jun 07, 2011 (newstodate): Slovakia's Bratislava Milan Rastislav Stefanik Airport saw passenger volumes down by six percent during the first four months of this year - but cargo proved a positive business.
A total of 354,045 passengers were handled at the airport during period, 75 percent of which were carried by Ryanair, with CSA and Danube Wings sharing the bulk of the rest.
The airport also handled 6,488 tonnes of cargo during January-April 2011, which was an increase by 21 percent, y-o-y.
The bulk of the air cargo is carried by DHL Express, operating to and from the hub in Leipzig.
