May 06, 2011 (newstodate): The Danish charter carrier and ACMI provider, Jet Time, in the air since 2006, is facing a busy summer season with nine Boeing 737 aircraft in the fleet.
The latest and recent additions were two Boeing 737-700 aircraft on three-year contracts.
-Jet Time is indeed performing very satisfactorily and has been growing steadily over the years, says Lars Thuesen, part-owner and chairman of the Board.
-We are enjoying the special position of having customers coming to us rather than relying on expensive marketing campaigns or price-dumping in competitive markets.
-After other providers like Sterling, Maersk Air, Spanair and SAS Charter turned into carriers with ambitions for own scheduled or low-cost operations, there are actually few providers left in the market with a strict focus on provision of capacity to other operators and airlines. This, then, is our niche, and our philosophy is to sell aircraft capacity, leaving it to others to capitalize on sales of their seats.
-This has proved a success, and after this coming summer season that look very promising, it may be time to consider whether to continue building up capacity, or to consolidate for a period, says Mr Thuesen.
