May 05, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian airline Yakutia Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 757-200F freighter aircraft.
The carrier, based at Yakutsk, will deploy the freighter to services from Moscow to destinations in the Far East, Southeast Asia and Europe.
The Boieing 757-200F, delivered on a lease agreement with AWAS, is the first freighter in the fleet, and Yakutia Airlines plans to add two more similar aircraft in 2012, to build up a new cargo division in the airline.
In Yakutia's fleet are now also five Boeing 757-200 three of which are leased from Icelandair, one Boeing 737-700, two Boeing 737-800, five Tu-154M, four An-140, 10 An-24, and five An-26 aircraft.
