May 04, 2011 (newstodate): Volga-Dnepr Group's AirBridgeCargo Airlines has become the first all-cargo airline with regular flights between USA and Russia.
Effective from May 3, 2011, the carrier has launched services to its first destination in North America with three weekly flights from its Russian hub in Moscow to Chicago, using Boeing 747-400F aircraft.
The airline has appointed Menzies Aviation and Swissport as ground and cargo handling agents, respectively, at Chicago OHara International Airport.
Since 2010, AirBridgeCargo has been represented in the US market by GSSA partner, Network Cargo Systems, and plans to open its own office in the US by the end of 2011.
