May 17, 2011 (newstodate): The Romanian carrier Carpatair is expanding its activities with new routes and destinations.
Effective from June 15, 2011, the carrier will launch three weekly flights to Istanbul from Constanta that will become its sixth operational base in Romania.
From April 21, 2011, Carpatair also expanded its operations in Romania by launching direct flights from Iasi to Rome.
Carpatair thus operates domestic and international flights from Bucharest as well as from Timisoara, Craiova, Bacau, Constanta and Iasi.
With its main base at Timisoara Traian Vuia International Airport, the carrier operates flights to 34 destinations in Europe, using a fleet of 18 aircraft including three Fokker 70, three Fokker 100, and 12 SAAB 200 aircraft.
The carrier has earlier put its Fokker 100 aircraft up for sale, without detailing its future fleet plans.
