May 23, 2011 (newstodate): Bulgaria is seeking a foreign investor to develop the country's Rousse Airport - but the process seems to slow in performance.
Earlier attempts, including a tender in 2009, have ended fruitlessly, and the latest tender expiring on June 15, 2011, seems to be unsuccessful as well.
So far none of the potential bidders have signed in to buy the tender documents, and the state may make a last-ditch effort by extending the deadline.
Rousse Airport, a military air force base until decommissioned in 1996, has one runway measuring 2,500 m, but no scheduled services.
