May 03, 2011 (newstodate): Plans are advancing for construction of a new international airport at Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Sources confirm that construction work will start later in 2011 on the new Turkmen capital airport, tentatively named Ashgabat Oguz Khan International Airport.
At the basis for the new project is a master-plan drawn up by the French construction company VINCI, and a tender will soon be opened to call on internaitonal companies to take part in the process.
