May 12, 2011 (newstodate): Whoever needs an AN-225 freighter can come forth: the manufacturer is ready to deliver!
The AN-225 Mriya freighter is the world's largest six-engine aircraft capable of lifting up to 250 tonnes of cargo, and can accomodate shipments up to 70 m length in its cargo compartment.
Only one AN-225 has so far been completed, but the manufacturer in Ukraine is ready to complete assembly of the second unit, now left 70 percent complete.
Only it needs some 100 mio USD to start up the process.
On June 11, 2010, the An-225 carried the world's longest piece of air cargo, when it flew two new 42-meter wind turbine blades from Tianjin, China to Denmark.
