May 03, 2011 (newstodate): The Lithuanian ground handling provider with HQ at Vilnius Airport, Baltic Ground Services is growing... and growing.
-On May 5, 2011, we are opening up services at Poland's Krakow Airport, offering fueling to airlines with Lithuania's Small Planet Airlines as our launch customer, says Vitalis Dudys, Baltic Ground Services Head of Sales and Marketing Department.
-We are convinced that quite a few other airlines at the airport will be looking closely at our opening there, and we expect to grow our customer base further in 2011.
-Already since February 5, 2011, we have been offering a full handling package at Warsaw Airport, again with Small Planet Airlines as our launch customer, but already now we are handling also other airlines including airBaltic and WIZZ Air, with several more contracts under negotiation.
-We are, however, also licensed to provide full handling services at four other Polish airports Wroclaw, Gdansk, Poznan and Katowice, and I expect our company to be up and running at all these airports before the end of 2011, when we will then employ some 600 staff in Poland alone.
-As of now, we employ 88 staff in Warsaw, 10 in Krakow, and about 240 in Lithuania. But when operations are fully developed in Poland we will exceed 1,000 staff by the turn of the year, says Mr Dudys.
