May 27, 2011 (newstodate): Lithuania's Palanga Airport is confident of its future growth potentials after the announcement by SAS of opening of flights from Oslo, Norway.
-The three daily flights from October 31, 2011, between Oslo and Palanga come as good news to us as this connection with also provide our markets with fresh transfer possibilities to other SAS flights, including North America, via Oslo Gardermoen, says Vaida Gendrolyte, Palanga Airport sales manager.
-Since 2010, Norwegian has been online with twice-weekly all-year services between Oslo and Palanga and we have seen high demand in the markets for this service as well.
-Also from June 26, 2011, the Russian carrier RusLine will start flights between Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Palanga, adding to our direct connections.
-By end of August 2011 we will complete the reconstruction of our passenger terminal, and our 2,280m runway is fully certified to international standards. All in all we are confident of the growth potentials for Palanga Airport, says Ms Gendrolyte.
