May 06, 2011 (newstodate): Icelandair recently added its 10th Boeing 757-200ER to the fleet - but the aircraft will not enter scheduled service with the carrier.
Instead, the aircraft that was delivered in March 2011, earlier serving with the Lithuanian carrier Aurela, is now being deployed to operate for United Nations in Africa under a charter contract that took effect in October 2010.
The Boeing 757-200 aircraft that was first allocated under the contract has returned to Icelandair and will now enter commercial scheduled service on the Icelandair route network that has been significantly expanded this summer-
