May 31, 2011 (newstodate): Dubai's first low cost airline, flydubai is planning for entry into Ukraine's civil aviation market.
Effective from September 16, 2011, flydubai will launch flights from Dubai to Kiev and Kharkov, followed on September 17, 2011, by flights from Dubai to Donetsk.
The flights to Kiev will be operated three times weekly, while the carrier will offer two weekly rotations on the two other routes to Ukraine.
flydubai will be alone in providing direct services between Dubai and Kharkov, but the carrier will meet competition on the two other routes as AeroSvit already operates flights between Dubai and Donetsk and Kiev, while Ukraine International Airlines operates between Dubai and Kiev and Odessa.
Besides, Air Arabia is already on-line between Kiev and Sharjah.
