May 30, 2011 (newstodate): Georgia's Tbilisi Airport is soon to greet two new airline operators offering scheduled services.
On June 2, 2011, Kazakhstan's Air Astana will introduce three weekly rotations between Almaty and Tbilisi using Embraer E 190 aircraft.
Only one week later, from June 9, 2011, the Chinese carrier China Southern Airlines will launch services to Tbilisi on a new route from Urumqi, in Xinjiang, using a mix of Boeing 737, Boeing 757 and Airbus 330 aircraft on the route.
Tbilisi International Airport is operated by the Turkish company TAV Urban Georgia that has effectively negotiated several new contracts with airlines stepping up operations at the airport.
