May 09, 2011 (newstodate): Estonian Air will have a new President and CEO from June 1, 2011.
Currently holding the post since April 29,2008 and serving as interim CEO from August 22, 2007, Andrus Aljas has been with Estonian Air since 2006.
-Having emerged from the economic crisis as a lean and fit enterprise, the company is today in a position to explore all opportunities the crisis has opened up. The opportunity to build on the achievements made in recent years is best effected through a combination of new ideas based on extensive experience in the airline industry, says Joakim Helenius, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of Estonian Air, in a statement.
The new CEO has already been selected "among potential candidates", and his name will be announced as he takes up office.
