May 10, 2011 (newstodate): Delta Airlines is returning summer services between Copenhagen and Atlanta.
The carrier will launch daily flights on the route from June 2, 2011, with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, adding to its year-round daily services between Copenhagen Airport and New York with Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
-We are indeed happy to greet the return of this service that will be operating during three summer months. Atlanta is a hugely interesting destination with excellent on-ward connections to a range of destinations in the southern parts of USA, as well as to destinations in South America, says Bo Seidelin, ProActive Airlines Services that is the carrier's cargo GSA in the Nordic region.
-The Boeing 767 lifts four pallets, or 8-10 tonnes per flight, and we are now approaching the market with information on the new openings. Delta Airlines was also operating the Copenhagen-Atlanta route last summer, which was received very positively in the airfreight market. Now we are back with this seasonal offer and hope to see a similar response again this time.
-As is well-known, Delta Airlines cooperates with Air France/KLM Cargo so we must of course pay great attention to not transgressing the lines separating these carriers on specific routes as to rates and special agreements. But it is a welcome addition to the capacity in the market, so were are really quite optimistic, says Mr Seidelin.
Delta Airlines Cargo appointed ProActive Airlines Services to provide GSA services in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland in April, 2008, after having been formerly served by AF/KLM Cargo in these markets.
