May 02, 2011 (newstodate): Air cargo continued its upward trend at Denmark's Billund Airport in April 2011, with a growth by 12.3 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 5,056 tonnes.
Included in the totals were 2,701 tonnes of import cargo, still growing modestly at 4.2 percent, y-o-y, while exports drove the growth, up 23.3 percent, y-o-y, to 2,355 tonnes.
During the first four months of 2011, the airport's cargo center has handled a total of 20,061 tonnes of cargo, including 10,301 tonnes of imports and 9,760 tonnes of export.
Over-all growth in January-April 2011 was thus 15 percent, with imports up 4.3 percent, y-o-y, and exports rising 28.9 percent, y-o-y.
