May 18, 2011 (newstodate): While the Latvian carrier airBaltic has managed to revive flights on some of its routes from Vilnius, in Lithuania, in cooperation with partners, the route to Copenhagen has still not been re-opened.
Earlier operating up to 13 destinations with direct flights from Vilnius, the carrier largely retreated from the Lithuanian market in 2010 after the build-up of low-cost traffic.
airBaltic is now re-opening flights from Vilnius to Stockholm and Berlin is cooperation with the Swedish airline Skyways, but the route to Copenhagen is still not operated despite a high demand in the market.
airBaltic is expected to announce a decision soon, probably also in cooperation with a partner carrier.
