May 02, 2011 (newstodate): 2010 was a good year in air cargo for Russia's Yekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport.
A total of 22,946 tones of cargo and mail was handled at the airport - an increase by 68.9 percent, y-o-y.
The airport's international cargo volumes were up no less than 150 percent, to 10,219 tonnes, while domestic cargo traffic increased by 34.8 percent, to 12,303 tonnes
Besides, volumes carried on flights within the CIS region reached 424 tonnes, up 21 percent, y-o-y.
Among the newcomers to the airport in 2010 were AirBridgeCargo operating a weekly AmsterdamEkaterinburgHong Kong service with Boeing-747F full-freighters, and MNG Cargo with a twice-weekly Airbus A330F freighter between Istanbul and Almaty, Kazakhstan, via Yekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport.
