Apr 18, 2011 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways has now taken delivery of its 6th Airbus A320 aircraft.
In In 2007 the carrier signed a contract with Airbus for delivery of 10 А320 aircraft, and the remaining four under the contract are slated for delivery by September, 2011.
Uzbekistan Airways launched commercial services with its first A320 on July 19, 2010, and has since operated 1,234 flights with its A320 aircraft, carrying some 140,000 passengers on flights from Baku to Amritsar, Delhi, Tel Aviv, Lahore, Almaty, Bishkek, Krasnodar, Ufa, Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Moscow and St Petersburg.
In the airline's fleet are also three Airbus A310 aircraft, as well as nine Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft, and six IL-114 aircraft.
