Apr 18, 2011 (newstodate): The tender for management of Ukraine's Vinnitsa Gavryshivka International Airport is expected to be announced on April 26, 2011.
The winner of the tender for the 25-year management contract will undertake the re-development of the airport, including completion of a new airport passenger terminal, runway reconstruction, and other elements of the infrastructure.
Vinnitsa Gavryshivka International Airport was granted international status in December 2008, having so far had only limited domestic air travel services with operations in 2010 totaling 100 charter flights and handling of only some 3,000 passengers.
Hopes are that after reconstruction of the airport, a new owner will bring in new traffic, notably low-cost traffic, to the region.
