Apr 06, 2011 (newstodate): Airbus has decided to forward the introduction of its new Airbus A320neo aircraft from 2016 to October 2015.
The new version of the popular Airbus A320, the A320neo incorporates new more efficient engines and large "Sharklet" wing tip devices, which together will deliver up to 15 percent in fuel savings.
This will translate into some 3,600 tonnes less CO2 per aircraft, per year.
So far, Airbus has logged more than 300 firm orders for the new aircraft after few months of announcement of the program, and most of the customers have selected Pratt & Whitney's PW1100G turbofan as the lead development engine for the A320neo Family.
