Apr 06, 2011 (newstodate): May 20, 2011, will see the opening in Brussels of the 4th International Conference on Russia-EU Airline Cooperation.
First item on the agenda is the issue of state regulation of air transport in Russia and EU, including a debate on the EU Commission's action against 11 EU member states that have signed bi-lateral agreements with Russia on air transport.
The second item is cooperation of airlines and the market for airline traffic between Russia and the EU countries in the light of continuing liberalization of air traffic in Russia.
Third item is new venues for commercial cooperation between airlines.
Next follow the issues of global alliances including Russian and foreign airlines, problems for airlines in cooperation with other business partners in the markets, and emission quota trading.
Later in 2011, St Petersburg will be hosting the long-overdue Russia-EU Aviation Summit finally to be convened after a five-year suspension.
