Apr 13, 2011 (newstodate): SAAB Aircraft Leasing is seeing strong growth returning in the Asia-Pacific region's aviation market.
The latest business by the company involves the lease of two Saab 340Bplus to the regional Thai airline NOK Mini that has put the aircraft in service from April 1, 2011, on daily flights from Bangkok Don Muang Airport to eight secondary cities in Thailand's northwest and northeast provinces.
-The Asia-Pacific region has fully recovered from the global economic crisis and its aviation sector is the fastest growing in the world. We have concluded several leasing and purchase deals recently, and the Saab 340 fleet in Asia-Pacific is nearing 100 aircraft, says Morgan Falkengren, Saab Aircraft Leasing SVP Asia-Pacific.
In Thailand the Saab 340 is also operated by Happy Air based in Phuket and the Royal Thai Air Force, operating the special version Saab 340AEW.
