Apr 07, 2011 (newstodate): Cargo volumes at Latvia's Riga Airport are rising - but at a rather slow pace in 2011.
After a strong performance in January where volumes rose by 10.5 percent, y-o-y, the growth was negative in February, dropping 2.7 percent, returning positively again in March 2011, with an increase by 3.5 percent to 1,008 tonnes.
During this year's Q1, volumes are thus up 3.5 percent, y-o-y, to 2,827 tonnes, with air cargo at 1,608 tonnes up 12.8 percent and air mail, 1,219 tonnes down 6.7 percent, y-o-y.
In 2010, Riga Airport handled a total of 12,248 tonnes of cargo and mail, an increase by 29.9 percent, y-o-y.
