Apr 20, 2011 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways has published an ambitious plan for development of the country's airport ground infrastructure, 2011-15.
Among the projects included is the construction of new passenger terminals at Tashkent Airport and Bukhara Airport, to be completed by the end of this year.
In 2014-2015, the Uzbek airline will build a new hangar at Tashkent Airport dedicated to the maintenance of two Boeing 787-8 aircraft to be delivered in 2014-2015.
In 2010-2013, Uzbekistan Airways will also construct an aircraft fueling facility at Navoi Airport that is being developed as an airfreight logistics center in cooperation with Korean Air.
By the end of 2012, the airline will reconstruct the airport buildings at Termez Airport and build a new passenger terminal at Navoi Airport.
In the plans is also the reconstruction of the runway and landing strip at Andijan Airport and Nukus Airport, respectively.
Finally, Uzbekistan Airways will modernize the runway lighting systems at Namangan, Ferghana and Termez.
