Apr 11, 2011 (newstodate): Lithuania's Palanga Airport is expecting a rise in passenger figures and more traffic in 2011.
-Our traffic during the coming summer schedule will comprise two weekly flights by Norwegian between Oslo and Palanga, two daily rotations by SAS between Copenhagen and Palanga, and two daily rotations by airBaltic between Riga and Palanga, says Ms Vaida Gentrolyte, Palanga Airport sales manager.
-Besides, the Russian carrier RusLine will start flights between Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Palanga from June 26, 2011, using Bombardier CRJ100 or 200 aircraft on the route.
-As for the airport infrastructure, we are to complete the reconstruction of our passenger terminal this summer, and our 2,280m runway is fully certified to international standards.
-Air cargo is really not our core business as we handle only smaller shipments and do not have the capacity to handling of larger shipments, says Ms Gentrolyte.
