Apr 08, 2011 (newstodate): International Airlines Group is poised to take its place among the world's 10 largest air cargo carriers.
IAG, International Airlines Group is the holding company created by the merger of British Airways and Iberia, and the two airlines' cargo operations will be run as a single business unit reporting to IAG.
The single business created will combine Iberia's network in Latin America with British Airways' network in North America, Africa and Asia, while both airlines will keep their brands, and their 2,700 employees will continue to work for their current airline.
The combined business will be led by Steve Gunning as managing director and Ignacio Diez Barturen as deputy managing director.
They were previously managing directors of BA World Cargo and Iberia Cargo, respectively.
