Apr 28, 2011 (newstodate): This summer, Icelandair Cargo is throwing a record-high volume of cargo capacity for sale in the Nordic market.
-Icelandair Cargo will be running the most extensive network of its history this summer with many new destinations and exceptional frequency and capacity for the Scandinavian market, says Mikael Tal Gretarsson, Icelandair Cargo.
-We will be offering services from Copenhagen, Billund, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger and Helsinki, with fast transfer connections through Keflavik to six major US destinations.
-Thus, we will offer among others up to 24 weekly rotations at Copenhagen, up to 10 at Stockholm and Oslo, up to seven at Helsinki, and up to 14 at New York and Boston.
-This capacity is offered on Icelandair's Boeing 757-200 passenger aircraft, meaning that we will be able to accept loose and palleted freight of dimensions fitting into the cargo compartments.
-It is really an extensive offering and we are of course looking forward to see the response in the market. But we are also convinced that the short transfer times at Keflavik Airport will prove a significant asset, as compared to competing products' extensive trucking times from Scandinavia to continental hubs at Amsterdam, Frankfurt or London, says mr Gretarsson.
