Apr 12, 2011 (newstodate): North Germany's Hamburg Airport saw growth in its cargo volumes in 2010.
A total of 71,580 tonnes of air cargo was handled at the airport, an increase by 11.2 percent, y-o-y.
The volume of flown air cargo was down by 13.2 percent, but this was compensated for by a sustained growth in trucked air cargo by 34.3 percent, y-o-y.
As in earlier years, less than one-third of the total volume was flown cargo, the remaining two-thirds being trucked instead to other German cargo hubs, primarily Frankfurt and Bonn/Cologne.
