Apr 27, 2011 (newstodate): Georgia has now commissioned a new radar system to enhance the airspace security for western Georgia in conformity with European standards.
The new radar at the country's Poti Airport is a Thales Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar.
With the latest delivery, Thales has supplied a total of three ATC radars to Georgia, and Thales has also been contracted to provide full maintenance of the radar systems for the next five years.
